Wahroonga Eastern Rd Childcare & Preschool
Campus Overview ( 中文浏览 )
Our Wahroonga Eastern Rd campus offers children aged 18 months – 5 years an early childhood experience unlike no other, where our children are all ‘noticed and known”, where every educator knows every child and family and where each child’s well-being, sense of security and safety is at the heart of all we do.
Our purpose-built Campus is conveniently located at 168 Eastern Road, with off street parking, in the leafy suburb of Wahroonga, surrounded by family homes, beautiful trees and a close-knit community. We are very close to The Bush School, Wahroonga Public and other great schools such as Abbotsleigh, Knox, Barker and PLC.
The children at Wahroonga Eastern Rd campus enjoy a uniquely simple environment that encourages them to explore, experiment, take risks, find joy and engage with nature in an authentic way. At Eastern Rd we make time for the children to “just be”, to play, to try new things, make choices and to have fun.
Families at our Wahroonga Eastern Rd campus enjoy –
- Our three classrooms all open out to our playground and are designed for small groups of children to engage in play through a variety of materials and resources, sourced for the children by the children and educators in a collaborative, shared experiential way. After all, children are the creators of their own learning through what interests them. Throughout the year the children in each room work to create a play space that reflects them and their interests so that they develop a strong sense of belonging to their group and to our campus. Our focus is to assist the children to be life ready, not just school ready and to learn how to learn and not what to learn.
- Our large outdoor learning space caters for all age groups, with our sandpit, digging patch, gardens, and natural play spaces being favourite features.
- The garden features fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, succulents that the children look after, watering, pruning, looking for “bugs” etc. Every day the magpie family come and chat and chortle, the children love to watch them and observe the baby magpies grow and change.
- A unique feature of our garden is that most of it has been grown from cuttings and plants propagated with the children. Additionally, the children actively engage with and help to look after our compost bins, worm farm, and our pet Guinea Pigs, Snowy and Sunshine.
- Our large undercover space is perfect for hot and rainy days so that we can play outside rain, hail or shine.
- Our large library of over 1500 books support our belief that reading and sharing stories with children opens up new worlds through language, imagery and the use of vocabulary which may not be used in the day to day.
- Included in our fees are light breakfast, morning tea, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea, nappies, formula, bedding, sunscreen, individually named hats for each child, access to Storypark for real time updates and communication. We also have access to and the support of OAC’s Allied Health team of Speech and Occupational Therapists and Nutritionists.
At Only About Children Wahroonga Eastern Rd, we offer More Than Childcare. Our unique approach to early years learning goes beyond education to encompass the health, social development and wellbeing of every child in our care. We call it The OAC Way.
Our innovative play-based Grow Curriculum gives Toddler and Preschool children the best opportunity to develop their growing minds during their early years. It includes:
- Left Brain Logic – Literacy & Language, Exploration & STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering & Math) and Sustainability
- Right Brain Creativity – Music, Dramatic Play and Art
- Health and Wellbeing – Physical Activity and Nutrition
- Social Development – Trust, Respect & Relationship and Resilience & Mindfulness
Our Grow curriculum is delivered via intentional teaching in dynamic small group learning environments where children’s successes, skills and challenges are monitored on an ongoing basis.
We offer OAC Flexi (occasional care) space permitting. This option is great for families who may need to utilise occasional or back up care at short notice. Flexi is available either as “full-day” – 7.30 – 6.00 pm or “half-day” 9.00am – 3.00pm.
For children that are already enrolled at OAC we also offer Casual Days (space permitting) for when you may need an extra day or two or when their community preschool is closed in the school holidays. Casual Days can also be full or half days.

Here’s what our families have to say
The facilities are clean and the outdoor area is reasonably spacious. The educators spend a lot of time setting up the rooms in the morning to offer engaging activities for the kids and the outdoor mud kitchen provides endless opportunities for entertainment.
The only downside to the centre is that lunch is not provided (morning tea, afternoon tea, and snacks are provided) but I've grown accustomed to packing lunches now, usually just with leftovers. I find it a small price to pay for my child to attend a centre where I know he will be well taken care of.
I am also grateful for educators who go the extra mile to make life easier for me as a parent. There have been times where I have had difficult drop offs and pick ups and the educators do not hesistate to provide me with assistance.
I highly recommend OAC Eastern Road for any parent who are looking to place their child in a good-quality ELC.
