My experience from the only about children Balwyn North campus has been wonderful.Centre manager phoebe, the second in charge Jacob, Kinder teacher Shirley, Mohi & Joy, and other educators are just amazing.Everything is kids first period from proper nutrition to overall development. They take good care of my little boy.If I leave instructions regarding anything they listen and follow. They offer useful information and instructions if you need anything. They are very quick to respond to you and they communicate whether it’s pro-care txt ,email etc.I would highly recommend this childcare facility.Keep up the great work!Oh and did I mention they have an extraordinary chef- David! He’s the real hero! He cooks the most nutritious & tasty daily meals for everyone. My son- the little picky eater who loves David’s food 😄

I completed my placement at OAC Balwyn North last April as a student. During my time there, I had the opportunity to learn so many wonderful things about nurturing and redirecting children, thanks to the guidance of Centre Director Phoebe and all the other staff members, including the educators.Their genuine approach towards children, respecting and encouraging them to explore their interests, left a lasting impression on me.Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at the childcare Centre where I was initially placed. I couldn't complete my first placement there. I had chosen this Centre for my placement based on my assessor's recommendation.However, I completed my placement with amazing people at OAC.As an educator, I often find myself reflecting on the invaluable experience I had at OAC Balwyn North.I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for your guidance and support.Thank you so much, guys!PS. My daughter has been attending this childcare for almost a year, and we’ve had a wonderful experience. The teachers are incredibly caring and patient with her. The food provided is not only healthy but also well-suited to children's tastes. She feels safe and has developed a strong sense of belonging here. Her happiness is evident, and we've seen significant improvements in her behavior and language skills. I also appreciate that OAC shares daily updates with photos and stories, allowing parents to easily stay informed about their child’s activities.

Daughter attended here from 10months old to 2yrs8months and my twins from 7months for 3months until we unfortunately had to move centres due to relocating.Fantastic centre manager and assistant manger Pheobe and Monique. Motivated & always listening to what the kids would like in their environment & always coming up with ways to keep them engaged. Consistent staff, enrolment team easy to work with. We miss OAC compared to new centre.

My twins have attended OAC Balwyn for the last 8 months. The nursery team are beyond amazing. The educators are kind, compassionate and are great with the kids. The communication between educators and parents is exceptional. Our kids love going to their childcare and have created some beautiful bonds with their educators. The director, Phoebe is fantastic and is so hands on with the kids. The twins love chef David’s food, and they get such a variety of meals for all around the world! We’ve been sending our child to OAC Balwyn for about 1 month now and we couldn’t have asked for more. OAC has provided the space and capacity for our son to grow and be curious. Their curriculum is inclusive, engaging and thoughtfully put together. All the educators are caring, lovely and kind towards the children. My twins attend the Balwyn North Campus 4 days a week and have settled so quickly with the Educators in their room. The Educators take time to build strong relationships with children, understand their wants, needs and interests and communicate so efficiently with parents. Thankyou to the Kinder 1 team for Educating and Caring for my children each day, it is so nice to know that they are safe, happy and healthy with you all.

After a lot of difficulty getting through to the central enrollment people, I was a bit wary of the “big chain” OAC. We persevered and tried it out and 1 month into being at OAC Balwyn North, my son decided he loved it and never wanted to go back to the other daycare I was driving 15 mins to (on the other days of the week)!He is always excited to go, well taken care of by beautiful, attentive staff, and there are exciting activities and things to learn about. This is mixed in with free play, and that’s allowed him to develop good friendships and just be a kid!I expected OAC to feel a bit impersonal but it’s quite the opposite - the Balwyn north center is a small-ish, warm center, all the staff know my son by name and communication is excellent and easy. The educators are calm, welcoming and always willing to chat which I think is the best gauge of a childcare. We feel super lucky!

Only About Children Balwyn North is a warm and inviting childcare centre with three dedicated outdoor play spaces, featuring sandpits and climbing equipment, children have plenty of space to explore, create and lead their own play. Each space is dedicated to a different age group with designated areas for Nursery, Toddler and Kinder children. Our four age-based indoor spaces have been specifically created to encourage children in their learning and growth, with a focus on safety and natural elements.

Our purpose-built two-level Campus is conveniently located at 135 Greythorn Road, Balwyn North, on the corner of Greythorn Road and Yeneda Street, right opposite Greythorn Primary School and a 10-minute walk from Greythorn Park. There are several parks and reserves in the surrounding area. With underground parking available, families can be sure of a smooth drop off and pick up every visit. A public bus route runs along our road with bus stops a short walk away.

At Only About Children Balwyn North Nursery, our passionate educators focus on laying a foundation for enduring curiosity, confidence and a love of learning. Our Balwyn North Nursery caters to the care and development needs of infants aged 6 weeks -2 years.

The Balwyn North Nursery focuses on safe sleep practices developed by qualified Family Health Nurses and Consultants. Our nursery is a safe and stimulating environment that encourages your child to explore and play and implements both structure and a nurturing environment with our exceptional caregiving and play routines.

Our Only About Children Balwyn North campus is focused on giving your child a calm and welcoming environment that balances play, exploration, and learning. Our Toddler rooms are led by passionate educators who create play-based learning activities designed to provide toddler-aged children with nurturing experiences that encourage growth and development.

Our Toddler rooms are safe, supportive spaces that facilitate creative exploration. Each space is expertly designed to encourage younger children to explore, solve problems, create, construct and interact with peers.

Balwyn North Kindergarten (3-5 years)

Only About Children Balwyn North Kindergarten is focused on creating quality experiences that place your child in the best position to begin school. Our nurturing kindergarten educators give special emphasis on building school-ready skills, such as Literacy & Language, Exploration & STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering & Math), Sustainability, Music, Dramatic Play and Art. We aim to make your child’s transition to school as smooth as possible by providing balanced, small group learning activities that build independence and resilience along with academic skills.

Our team of highly-skilled educators and health specialists work together to create an integrated journey that enhances your child’s learning and development. Individual learning plans are created to empower each child with skills that will help them reach their full academic and social potential.

We use the Kinder Tick at Only About Children Balwyn North because we’re an approved provider of a Victorian Government funded kindergarten program. That means our service delivers a play-based learning program, led by a qualified early childhood teacher.

Provides an innovative curriculum focused on left brain logic and right brain creativity
Includes both structured and unstructured play-based learning that considers the child’s individual interests and development
Provides an ‘Individual Learning and Development Plan’ for every child with 6 monthly check-ins with families

Phoebe Osler

Campus Director

Phoebe has over 8 years experience working in Early Childhood Education, including being part of the opening team at our Southbank Campus and has experience working across a number of our Only About Children campuses.

Her appoach to teaching is built upon the ‘rights of the child’ and she believes that through a collaborative holistic approach with families, children can thrive in their Early Years to establish a strong sense of being and belonging in their world now and for their future. She believes children learn best through play and by providing a safe, exciting environment, supported by responsive and attentive educators, children can learn strategies that can instil a sense of curiosity and love of learning for a lifetime.

Phoebe grew up in regional Victoria in Gippsland where she developed a great love of dancing and music. One of her favourite experiences to share with children in her care is dancing and singing. Through this, she believes children can develop great confidence in approaching different situations with courage and determination.
