NSW Start Strong Free Preschool Funding

If you're a parent in New South Wales with a child aged three to five years old, you may be eligible for free preschool funding through the State Government's Start Strong Free Preschool Funding program.

What is the Start Strong Program?

The Start Strong Preschool program, offered by the NSW Government, helps families access quality early education for their children by providing them with a strong foundation for success in school and beyond. Only About Children Sydney campuses are participating in the 2025 Start Strong program.

In 2025 there will be an annual flat rate Family Fee Relief Payment, for eligible children attending a preschool program in long day care, of:

  • $515 for children who are 3 years old and not 4 years old, on or before 31 July 2025; and
  • $2,174 for children who are 4 years old, on or before 31 July 2025.

To access the Family Fee Relief Payment, families will need to complete a NSW Government 2025 ‘Fee Relief Declaration and consent form’ for each child, and provide the completed form to the Campus. Access to a Family Fee Relief Payment is only available from one service at a time, and upon completion and return of the declaration form.
